SENIORS INTERMOUNTAIN SCRATCH BOWLING ASSN.

RULES

(New rules and changed rules in Bold Type)

The SISBA was formed in May 1990 to give scratch bowlers over 45 years of age (men), and 40 years of age (women), the opportunity of competing in a scratch tournament at least once a month in the intermountain area.                                                        (40,Forty)

A) The administrative fee is $10.00 per year, payable at the first tournament the bowler enters of each bowling season. Charter members are exempt.

B) Administrative fees and expense money collected at each tournament shall be used at the discretion of the tournament director for the operation of SISBA.

C) Tournament entry and administrative fees may be paid by check, money order, or cash. If the SISBA receives a bad check from an individual, his/her entry in all future tournaments must be paid either by money order or cash. A $15.00 fee will be assessed to any bowler submitting a check that is returned, the fee will be due prior to his/her participation in another tournament.

1. All bowling will be scratch. This tournament is open to members of USBC and their rules and the rules of SISBA will apply. If a bowler refuses to abide by these rules, they will no longer be able to participate in any SISBA tournament.

2. The SISBA director will settle all disputes not covered by SISBA or USBC rules.

3. The tournament season will run from September to April with the last Sunday in April or the first Sunday in May being designated the Grand Finals Championship. There will be eight (8) or more qualifying tournaments plus the Grand Finals. A bowler must bowl in or pay into at least four (4) tournament entries to be eligible for the Grand Finals Tournament.

4. The tournament format will consist of five (5) games qualifying with one squad on Sunday(excepy Elko & any House with less then 16 Lanes.. The field will be cut to the top 12/14/18/24 depending on total entries. The top qualifier from each squad, from each division  will automatically draw byes in the first match play.   The top qualiers above the cut line from each squad  will advance  to the qualifying round. When there are three squads offered, the high qualifier from each division will get the Bye.  Each will then bowl a two (2) game match, head to head, the top qualifier other than the first place qualifiers of each squad, bowling against the bottom qualifier, etc. The Four top qualifiers will bowl with each other in the first match play round for qualifying score. The winners of the two-game match round along with the Four top qualifiers then will bowl a one-game, head-to-head match, total points from the two-game match determining the seeding. Total pin fall for the entire tournament will position the bowlers for the step-ladder finals.

A) In case of ties in qualifying in the top 12/14/18/24, high game will determine the upper position. If 12/14/18/24 place is a tie, then a one-game roll-off will be bowled to determine this position.

B) In case of ties during quarter-final rounds, the highest two-game total will determine the upper position. Ties during the semi-final round and the finals will be determined by a two-frame roll-off.

C) If there are 48 or less bowlers, the first cut will be to the top ten (12); 49 to 64 bowlers, cut to 14; 65 to 80, cut to 18, 81 and over cut to 24. This may be adjusted as per Directors Discretion. The prize list will be adjusted accordingly.

 D) After qualifying, the number one qualifiers will draw byes in the two-game match elimination, but will bowl the two games with each other to determine positioning score for the next match.   The Fifth seed will bowl the last (8,12, 14, 18, 24) seed, etc. in the two game match play. If there are less than 30 bowlers, the match play will be eliminated and the top four division leaders will proceed to the step-ladder finals to determine the winner.

E) In the one-game match play, total points for the tournament will determine seeding with the number one seed bowling against the last seed from the two-game match play.

 5. Tournament fees will be set at $100.00 each. Each participant will draw for lane assignments.

6. The pay-off for each tournament will be as soon after the match as the director can issue the checks. The prize ratio shall be at least one (1) in six (6) entries for all the tournaments. All prize fees collected will be returned 100 percent to the participants after each tournament. If a participant has pre-paid an entry but must cancel, the entry can be held for a future tournament or applied to the tournament as an entry towards qualifying for the Grand Finals tournament.

7. Re-entry is permitted if more the on squad, but a bowler will only be permitted one spot in the match-play and cash only once. Re-entry is limited to spots available, at no time will there be more than three (3) bowlers per lane*. Reserved entries will be held until 15 minutes before the squad for which the reservation was made. Re-entry and walk-in entries will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Re-entries will count towards eligibility in the Grand Finals Tournament.

8. Bowlers are responsible for paying fees, verifying their scores and totals, and using bowling equipment that meet USBC specifications. Inappropriate conduct such as abusive language, profanity and other misconduct on the lanes will not be tolerated. All bowlers must display good sportsmanship.
