Bowling Loses Another Champion
Willard Norr Baxter "Bill" Willard "Bill" Norr Baxter, 81, passed away December 9, 2006 surrounded by his family. Bill was born Sept. 26, 1925 in Logan, UT to Willard Cooper Baxter and Irma Mabel Norr. He was the oldest of five children. Bill married his sweetheart of 57 years, Barbara Faye Ward, on June 17, 1949. Bill served as a medic in World War II and also in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Utah Air National Guard in 1981. Serving as President of the Salt Lake Bowling Association and as a Director of several bowling houses, Bill was instrumental in promoting bowling throughout Utah and participated in national tournaments throughout the country. Bill leaves behind his wife, Barbara; children, Vickie, Sheryl (Dennis Jensen), and Bill W. Baxter; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; brother, Ray Baxter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Reed Baxter, Beth Clark; and infant brother, James. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Deuel Creek Ward, 950 N. Main, Centerville, Utah. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 14th at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
