First USBC National Governing
Body Public Hearing with USOC Set Oct. 21
October 14, 2004
The first of two public hearings on the United States Bowling Congress’
application to the United States Olympic Committee to become bowling’s
national governing will take place Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. MDT at USOC
Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo.
In June, USBC submitted its application for USOC membership as a Pan
American Sport Organization and for recognition as bowling’s national
governing body.
If the application is approved, USBC will replace USA Bowling as bowling’s
national governing body.
The second hearing should be held in November with a final decision by
USOC expected in December.
